The first time you try snowboarding, it can be an intimidating task initially.

Tip #1 1. Learn to Skate Well
The ability to learn how to skate from the beginning can make your day more enjoyable – and by skating, I don’t mean on the skateboard!
If you’ve never climbed the mountain on a snowboard, you might not be aware that you must go up and down the lifts using one foot off on the snow. Even if you didn’t need to do this, it’s difficult to walk up to the lifts with both feet strapped.
The lift is probably the most popular occasion you’ll have to skate for your first time, however, sometimes you’ll require it to skate across flat areas and even up-hills too.

- A proper technique right from the beginning (this is enormous)
- Give you immediate feedback on whether or not you’re following the correct procedure (this is vital and can’t be found by looking up the best way to ride on the internet)
- Where do you begin If you’re learning by yourself, or if an acquaintance who might know how to ride, but doesn’t know how to teach is instructing you, you’ll know where to begin. You might begin to try things that are very difficult to perform if you haven’t previously tried other things. This can result in poor methods and a loss of confidence. Teachers will help you learn to perform tasks in the most orderly manner.
Tip # 3: Bend Your Knees
One of the primary causes of falling for newbies particularly on difficult terrain is because they’re not bent enough in their knees or aren’t bent enough.
If you bend your knees (and I’m not talking about doing squats here!) your body will absorb bumps with greater ease.
Although I’m certainly not affirming that it’s a good thing that you’re falling, it could be a sign that you’re improving, but you shouldn’t fall because you’re too tall – so make sure you keep your knees bent!
Tip # 4: Ride across the Slope
Many beginners go too fast and ramp up a speed they don’t have control over – and eventually, they crash without warning or cause themselves to crash until they stop.
If you choose to ride along the slope rather than directly down the slope, you’ll be able to examine your speed. If you’re still gaining too fast, you could even decide to start going back up the slope in order to reduce your speed.
Tip # 5: Look Where you Want to Go
Naturally, you will go to where you see. If you’re looking down the slope and you plan to go down the slope, then your body is likely to attempt to turn around to make it easier to ride down the slope.
This will place your body into a bad posture and could result in you going towards the bottom, when you’re not supposed to, even If you don’t first fall due to your twisting position.

TIP # 6: Getaway to the Bunny Slope Rapidly
I do not recommend doing too much too soon since it could negatively impact your ability to perform and your confidence.
However, many resorts offer terrain suitable for beginners, but not the most bunny slope.
The easiest slope (often coupled with a carpet lift) is usually crowded and that’s not all, it’s packed with beginners. It means that there’ll be lots of people who fall and ski erratically ahead of you.
It can be difficult to find a rhythm and it can be difficult.
When you feel confident about being able to balance on your board and descending the slopes, then you can move on to the different “green” runs around the resort.
Tip # 7: Make Sure you Have Appropriate Gear
Charlie recently gave the old ski really cheap, so I’m ready to start learning how!
Don’t ……..not too long What you might not be aware of (and the thing that Charlie might not be aware of – or isn’t willing to inform you off because he’s looking for to make a quick sale!) is that some snowboards (and the same goes for boots and bindings too) are more appropriate to learn on than others.
If Charlie gives you his fierce advanced snowboard, it’s likely to be extremely difficult, and certainly not enjoyable to master. This can slow down your progress dramatically – or, even more importantly might turn you off snowboarding entirely!

Also, it’s best to leave rental gear as quickly as you can. While it could seem that rental equipment is simple to master, it’s typically not the situation.
Tips #8: Be Certain that the Gear You Purchase Fits Correctly
In addition to ensuring the equipment you purchase is appropriate for beginners, you should also make sure it’s fitted as it’s supposed to.

In general, when it comes to width, the proper length will generally have the correct width however it’s not always.
For length, the standard is that beginners should select an ice skate that is shorter than the advanced rider. This is because a smaller snowboard is more maneuverable.

Tips #9: Develop an outline for your progression
You’ll be able to move faster with a strategy. The plan will also allow you to continue improving and trying new things instead of staying in the same place.

In this way, lessons can really be helpful. Your instructor will direct you in the correct direction, and be aware of the sequence you should advance in. They will also be able to assess the progress you’ve made as well and what time you can move on to the next step.
